What is some of the best fun you can have by one’s self? Writing!
Now, for some of the backstory for APIF:
I got 10 rejection slips before I built my own stage.
When I finished my first book, Purple Curve Effect — SKI's Throughput on Command, I sent it out to publishers full of hope.
Ten rejections later, I made a decision:
I’d build my own publishing company.
No more waiting on gatekeepers to approve my ideas.
Since then, I’ve published two books for colleagues—and earlier this year, I co-authored and released my second book with Erik Doran: TrueGrit Forecasting.
Every step has been DIY, hands-on, and occasionally lonely. But I wouldn't trade it.
Because in that process, I found something rare:
A real network of business minds who write.
People who aren’t just authors, but operators—building companies, ideas, and legacies.
And frankly? People like you.
That’s why we created APIF—a no-cost Substack community for U.S.-based authors and soon-to-be authors in the business genre.
It's not a course.
It's not a pitch funnel.
It’s a clean, honest space to connect, collaborate, and to promote your message.
We drop weekly insights, marketing prompts, author visibility tips, and give our members the mic. You don’t need permission to be seen—you just need the right place to show up. And that’s what we’re building here.
If you're writing a business book—or thinking about it—you’re already halfway there.
Now you’ve got a place to land.
